Privacy Policy

Last updated: September 4, 2026

LocalSeen ("we", "us") helps local businesses understand how AI assistants recommend them. This policy explains what data we collect, why we collect it, and the choices you have. If you have any questions, email us at hello@localseen.ai.

What we collect

  • Account details. Your name, email address and a hashed password, or your basic Google profile (name, email) if you sign in with Google. We never see your Google password.
  • Business information you enter. Business name, category, city, country and competitor names. This is the input for your scans.
  • Scan results. The AI answers, scores, cited sources and recommendations we generate for your businesses.
  • Basic usage data. For our free tools we keep a daily, IP-based usage counter to prevent abuse. We also count page views and clicks, and which link or campaign a visit arrived from, as described under Cookies below. We do not run advertising trackers or sell analytics data.

How we use it

  • To run your visibility scans and show you the results.
  • To send you weekly scan report emails, which you can turn off any time in Settings.
  • To operate, secure and improve the service.

We do not sell your personal data. We do not send marketing email you did not ask for.

Third-party services we rely on

Running a scan means asking real AI engines real questions. Your business name, category, city and competitor names are included in those queries. The services we use to operate LocalSeen are:

  • AI answer engines, accessed through OpenRouter (OpenAI, Anthropic, Google models)
  • DataForSEO for Google AI results and search presence checks
  • Google Places for public business profile data (ratings, review counts)
  • Resend for transactional email (reports, account email)
  • Polar as our merchant of record for paid plans; they process your payment details and billing information directly; we never see or store your card number
  • Cloudflare, including Turnstile bot protection, and our hosting providers for serving the site and API
  • PostHog, hosted in the EU, for the visit counts described under Cookies. It receives no name and no email address. Unless you accepted the cookie, it receives no identifier that survives your visit either

Each of these providers processes only what is needed to deliver the feature and operates under its own privacy terms.

Cookies

We count page views and clicks, and which link or campaign a visit arrived from, so we can tell which pages are worth writing and which buttons nobody finds. By default this happens without a cookie: nothing is stored in your browser, no profile is built for you, and one visit is not joined to the next.

The bar at the bottom of the page asks about one thing, and it is not whether we may count you. We count you either way. It asks whether we may also see which country you are reading from and recognise you when you come back, and those two need a cookie. Accept and we set one. Refuse, or ignore the bar entirely, and nothing is stored.

So we set at most two cookies: one that keeps you signed in, and one that exists only if you pressed Accept. There are no advertising cookies, no cross-site tracking cookies and no session recording.

Data retention and deletion

Your data stays in your account until you remove it. Deleting a business permanently deletes its scans, results and reports. If you want your entire account removed, email hello@localseen.ai and we will delete it along with all associated data.

Changes to this policy

If we make material changes we will update this page and the date above. Your continued use of LocalSeen after changes means you accept the updated policy.
